Delete your account
You can delete your Good Report account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone and without waiting. You do not need to explain why. If you would rather not open the app, there is an email option further down.
From inside the app
- Open Good Report and go to More.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and its data are removed straight away.
Before you do it, you may want More, then Export first. Export writes everything you have put into the app to a file on your device, and it keeps working after the account is gone.
By email
If you have lost access to the app or the device it was on, email hello@goodreport.app from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm that the request came from that address, delete the account, and reply to tell you it is done. We aim to do this within seven days and in practice it is usually the same day.
We ask you to write from the signup address because it is the only way we can tell that the request is really yours. If you cannot, say so in your message and we will find another way to confirm it is you before we delete anything.
What gets deleted

What is kept, and for how long
We keep a small amount of information after deletion, and only where we have to:
- Server logs held by our hosting providers, which may contain an IP address, for up to 30 days, for security and abuse prevention.
- Records of a purchase, if you ever made one, for as long as tax and accounting rules require. These are handled by Apple or Google, not by us, and they do not contain anything you wrote in the app.
Backups roll off on their own schedule, so a copy of deleted data can persist in an encrypted backup for up to 30 days before it is overwritten. Nothing is restored from those backups except to recover from a failure affecting the whole service.
This cannot be undone
Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery period and no way for us to bring an account back, including for journal entries, which are encrypted with a key we never receive and could not read even if a copy still existed. Export first if there is anything you want to keep.
